THE BLESSINGS AND THE WEIGHT.

I’m a firm believer that blessings comes from God, but little did I know that some certain weights around our blessings also comes from God. You know when life seems so good and you are walking from victory to victory enjoying all of the blessings from God, but some way round there seem to be a whole lot of people pulling down on you. All of a sudden somethings that you never prayed for or wished for are coming your way and it even seems to look like your blessings aren’t yours anymore because there is this weight of every body pulling on you for some kind of help. It’s like a finished assignment comes with another unravel mystery for you to solve.

So I listened to a message about Elijah and Elisha’s story in the bible(2 Kings 2:1-18) Somewhere in the message, the preacher talks about Elijah’s blessing of been transmitted into heaven and the weight of Elisha pulling on this blessing. Now meditating on this message I realized that if I’m asking God to bless me or if God in His own way is putting a blessing on me, He isn’t only coming in with that blessing, He is coming in with a weight of glory too.

You see in the verse that God was blessing Elijah by taking him up to heaven(which means Elijah wasn’t going to face death but naturally he was going to be taken up to heaven) Now this was a huge blessing God was bestowing on Elijah. But this huge blessing wasn’t coming alone, It was coming with a weight and this weight was Elisha.

So we see Elijah journeying to the place where he was going to be pulled up to heaven, but on this journey we also see Elisha following him up and not wanting to stop anywhere until he has received something from Elisha. Elijah kept prompting him to stop following him but he still insisted not to leave. It had to go on like that till Elijah asked him what he wanted from him.

As Elisha was pouring out all he wanted, Elijah realized it was a difficult thing he was asking but he still had to make room for such provision because Elijah was a man of faith and I believe he knew and understood that the God he serve can do all things and make way for all our needs to be provided. So he didn’t say no to Elijah even though the weight he was coming with was difficult, he assured Elisha of receiving it when his time of transmission arrives.

Elisha pulled on Elijah’s blessing. Elijah could have ignored him anyway because it was him that God was blessing and not Elisha. But he made room for Elisha to tap into his blessing because I believe he understood the theory of weights that comes alongside our blessings. He understood that if God is blessing me this mightily then it means He is giving me a mighty weight to carry too.

So my dear reader I’m sharing this piece with you today to draw your mind to the understanding that whatever kind of blessing you are asking God for or God is going to send your way is going to come with a weight. This weight isn’t a weight of hardship or a weight of trouble, it’s a weight of glory. It’s a weight that is meant to grow you and put you on a transmission level. And even though this weight is going to come us heavy and somehow difficult to carry but I promise you that if this weight is coming as attach to your blessing then know that God has already gone ahead of you and made provision for it.

You have to understand that you can’t ask for more wisdom and expect to be solving the same kind of minor problems you have been solving. You can’t ask for growth and live the same way you have been living. There would be a weight attached to that growth and that weight is what is going to grow you. More wisdom is going to come with more problems for you to solve. When you ask God for more of His love to flow your way, I believe HE is going to send more difficult people your way so that you can love them the way He has loved you despite your flaws. That’s how you grow and understand His love towards you.

This theory of weight and blessings is simple to understand, its like the more you are asking for more of His blessings the more He is going to pour more weight on you. You can ask yourself this question, If your growth doesn’t come with more hardship and difficult situations, how do you grow?

My gorgeous reader I could go on with more examples for you, but you might not be able to read all. So I rather save you time and just let you understand that if only it’s a blessing then its got a weight attached to it. You just have to allow yourself to be pulled on as Elijah did. And aside that also know that you can't t pour out when you are empty, if God is bringing the weight then HE has already filled you up. God won’t let you run empty, if only you will allow yourself to be pulled on then He will pour more in you.

If you run from the weight or avoid the weight, you put your blessings at the risk of not functioning the way its supposed to be functioning.

Happy new year and God bless you for reading...... Peace ✌️ 💕💕
