When we think of a servant, we basically think of someone who is being controlled or someone who is under supervision and does what’s expected of him or her. Most at times we even think serving means belittling ourselves. If someone is seen to be serving we tend to see them as people with low self esteem, or people who couldn’t make anything for themselves so they just have to serve.
Honestly speaking one way or the other we are all looking forward to be leaders and not servants or people who are going to be forever controlled. But the truth is that the greatest leader of all time who is known to be Jesus Christ actually served throughout His entire life here on earth. I could probably go to Google and search for the definition of serving for you, but the beautiful definition i can ever give to you on serving will be the life Jesus Christ lived here on earth.
For Jesus to show us how high and mightily He was, He had to do it by showing us how low he can become and that’s why He left His beautiful throne in heaven and came down here on earth in the form of a man to save us from the sins that took dominion over us. He totally served us with everything He had in Him so as to prove to us how great He was. These lessons about Jesus Christ teaches us that it is never belittling to be a servant but instead it is EMPOWERING and that's where I want us to draw our inspiration from.
My dear reader if you ever find yourself to be in a place of serving don’t see it to be something you are doing because you have no options to choose from or because you are of no value. Jesus Christ had all the power and perhaps He could have perform some magic for us to be saved but He obeyed His father and took up the mantle of coming down here on earth to serve and save us. So don’t see serving as belittling yourself, instead put some value on serving and do it with some passion and style because you aren’t wasting time serving, you are empowering yourself and going through a glorious uplifting process.
I know it might feel like you have been serving throughout your whole life or maybe you have been living on dictatorship your entire life and it seems like you can’t just move forward. You have been going through the reasons why each and every blessed day of your life but you still don’t get any answers to your why's. Well be glad you passed through this blog today because I have got some real answers to your reason why's.
You see we have all got something that God has placed down on the inside of us. These things are the things that are going to make us unique and also through these things God is going to work some powerful and tremendous works in us. Now Since it requires you and only you to do such works, God has to take His time to mould you and prepare you through that serving periods so that you can come out fully prepared for such greater works.
God knew you even before you were formed in your mother’s womb and again He knows the plans that He has for you. These plans are not plans to harm you nor destroy you, they are plans to prosper you and give you successful ends. So if He is taking you through Some serving moments in your life, know that it is for a reason and that reason is going to give you a successful end.
What God Is calling you to do my dear reader is so big that if you don’t go through the preparation( serving) process you can’t survive in it if He hands it over to you. Take Joseph in the bible as an example. He ended up being the prime minister of Egypt, but that didn’t come easily. He had to go through some real hardship serving moments before that crown of success was placed on his head.
Again Matthew 20: 26-27 tells us that
Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant and whoever wants to be chief among you must become your slave.
This means that if we want to be leaders we must go on through some serving process so as to come out prepared as leaders who knows or understands the worth of serving.
As I end this piece, i want you to keep your eyes fix on the well done message God is going to tell you and not that of a human. Because if you keep your eyes fixed on human appreciation or well done messages as you are serving you might not get any and that can get you to lose focus. I know that’s going to be had but keep your focus on God and humble yourself throughout the process because I promise you your hard work would never be in vain.
Don’t let pride steal you away, Christ lifts up the humble. And as I said earlier, it’s never belittling to be a servant but instead it is EMPOWERING and a glorious UPLIFTING PROCESS.
God bless you for reading......Peace✌💖
